First of all, a reminder about my #BADD2014 post: Teaching Someone Else to Live With An Invisible Disability. If you follow the #BADD2014 link [External Link]), you should also be able to find posts by a bunch of other people about disablism and disability. There’s some interesting stuff in there!

And now the other things to mention. The official launch of Amok last week (see the bookshelf to the right) means that there’s been a published announcement for Gone Fishing, as well as a background post. This also fit in nicely with the Ink Plan update and gave me something to add!

It has also come to my attention that I haven’t done any story background posts in a while and missed out on two. Under advisement from Ole, I have decided to get around to sorting them out and also do some posts for stories that came out before I started doing these background thingummies. To start with, I have now created a story background tag that should make looking for them easier – if only for me. The next thing is to commit to writing up some background about all the stories published anywhere other than this site that I’ve “missed”. These are, in reverse published order:

  • Hunting Unicorns
  • An Honest Woman’s Child
  • Beaumains
  • Dog Handler
  • The Gospel
  • The Big Bad Wolf
  • Heart’s Desire
  • Nesting Instinct
  • Spindrift
  • Half-Breed
  • Obsession
  • The Ally-Ally-Oh
  • The Girl From Yesterday

I may not get around to doing background posts for all of these – if only because some of the stories that take place in particular worlds will have already got a fair amount of background available on site – but I shall try. Priority will be for those that are still available to read, of course!

Blogging Against Disablism Day 2014: Teaching Someone Else to Live With An Invisible Disability

Last year’s post can be found here: Living With Invisible Disability

Basically, I want to talk about how… interesting it has been having to learn to live with someone else and vice versa. … Continue reading

Sunday 27th April, 2014

Not much to report this week – not that there has been for a while. There’s been a bit of writing and a bit of reading, a few bits of learning to co-habit, and not much else.

You may remember Blogging Against Disablism Day from last year (#BADD2013). It’ll be rolling around again (#BADD2014 [External Link]) on May 1st – which is not an auspicious day according to folklore and legend, but we’ll do our best! My post will go live shortly after midnight (and this is the link in advance). It’s automated because I can’t guarantee that I’ll have time to organise stuff before toddling off to work in the morning. Expect the tweets, FB & Google plus plugs to turn up after work (5pm BST).

If you follow the BADD link, you should also be able to find posts by a bunch of other people about disablism and disability. I will also be mentioning it again next weekend – after the fact – in order to make sure everyone gets a full round of attention.
