And so I’m back. From outer space! You just walked in to find me here with th-

Okay, maybe not. I am back, though, but I have nothing to show for it. I’ve written a bit (based on a Grimms’ fairy tale), read a lot in the form of Sherrilyn Kenyon and Rick Riordan (comfort reading as much as anything), and done some decorating.

In terms of how come I didn’t write anything here for a while… Well, this is something I find difficult to actually type. I am aware that I am lucky – in that I’m (currently) financially stable, have a roof over my head, food on the table, companion animals and a handful of friends I talk to about almost everything. However, this doesn’t stop me from getting stressed out.

People who I’ve talked to (and ended up crying on their shoulders) over the last couple of weeks know what got me stressed out but it’s not something I can commit to print. There are things it isn’t politic to commit an opinion or an experience to the written word. To hint very strongly and potentially drop myself in it, it doesn’t pay to discuss the specifics of things in case it’s seen by someone who doesn’t need to and takes it the wrong way.

My way of coping with a stress overload is to start crawling back into a hole and keep even more to myself in the hopes that the problem thing will go away. It kind of did by developing a new set of resolutions for dealing with the causes – after talking (in person and via email) to some friends. Which means you all pretty much got caught in the lack of crossfire. Anyone who watches my science-y news updates on Google+ or my witterings on Twitter will probably have noticed that things have died off – and these should be coming back up. Normal service is resuming.
